The projects which are formally part of the Promoting Safer Building Programme are:
- An engineering doctorate (EngD) by Lucila Carbonell studying aspects of self-recovery following the April 2015 Nepal earthquake, sponsored by CARE International UK at UCL.
- Promoting Safer Building Pilot, a collaborative research project with ODI, CARE, UCL EPICentre & BGS funded by NERC & CARE International UK.
- Lessons from Haiyan, a review of evaluations and lessons from the Typhoon Haiyan shelter response funded by Habitat for Humanity & CARE International UK.
Other research which is very relevant to the programme and will feed into it is a systematic review of evidence in the area of self-recovery after disasters undertaken by Habitat for Humanity GB and UCL, funded by the Humanitarian Evidence Programme. See Supporting Shelter Self-Recovery Evidence Synthesis.
